A few weeks ago, at the National Back Exchange in the UK (The NBE Association exists to develop, disseminate and promote evidence based best practice in moving & handling), MIP was awarded the Industry Innovation Award for Innovative Ideas and/or Products Promoting Excellence in Manual Handling for Swift and Swift UltraSlide.
The Industry Innovation Award is voted on by the conference attendees (namely occupational therapists, manual handling experts, and clinical directors). In a market space with companies offering everything from an inexpensive disposable slider to a high end air matt, all with the purpose of safe patient repositioning and handling, being recognized is a significant accomplishment. As a result of this honor, we will be featured in the upcoming Occupational Therapists trade journal.
