A Holiday Break - A story about giving back to caregivers!

Posted by on

'Tis the season for giving and receiving. And this holiday season, we wanted to do lots of giving to some very special people, and surprise them with what they'd be receiving.

Over the past 18 months, the care staff at Champlain Long-Term Care Residence, have had to deal with many challenges due to the pandemic and to the realities that healthcare workers around the world have to face on a daily basis. From long hours to new regulations to stress and fatigue, these incredible selfless individuals continue to be there to care and comfort our loved ones, while putting there own well-being aside.

At MIP, we believe in the importance of caring for those who care for others, and we take our philosophy of "Caring as a Science" to heart.

So on December 8th, 2021, a team of MIP Elves arrived at this small nursing home in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada, to deliver a little holiday break and plenty of surprises!

Holiday Break The surprises included a well deserved celebration filled with coffee and snacks for all staff and residents, as well some much need supplies for the home (Blankets for all the residents, PPE caddies filled with isolation gowns, and microfiber cloths), including some Google Nests to help residents communicate with their loved ones and listen to their favorite tunes. But that's not all! The care staff also received goodie bags filled with sweet treats, reusable facemasks & straws, and even some Tim Horton's gift cards. And the holiday surprise ended with some special gift draws, that included a Spa getaway, an Amazon Gift card, gift baskets and other special treats.

It was a magical day for some magical beings!

You can see the entire surprise unfold in our "A HOLIDAY BREAK" story video below:

We are truly grateful for all the incredible and tireless work that care staff and healthcare workers around the world do every day! We recognize and see you! Thank you!

From all of us at MIP,
Happy holidays and Happy New Year!
