WEBINAR PARTNERSHIP : THE EVOLUTION OF LINEN: MASTERING THE MICROCLIMATE TO REDUCE SKIN INJURIES

Posted by on
On December 4th, 2019, we had the privilege to partner with Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC) for an important Webinar:

Hosted by Dr. Karen Campbell, PhD, MScN, RN, NSWOC and Laura Robbs, RN, MN, NSWOC, WOCC(C), NCA,
The Webinar had the following objectives:
  • To review the evidence regarding the risk that inappropriate use of incontinence products and linen pose to patients/residents and nurses.

  • Discuss how linen and fabric technology is evolving to support microclimate management and safe patient/resident handling.

  • To review one hospital’s efforts to change practice to ensure appropriate use of incontinence products and linen.

  • To review the cost of patient/resident and staff injury when appropriate patient/resident handling is not done.

  • To learn from other NSWOCs and NSWOC students the issues related to appropriate incontinence product and linen use in their own work setting and the measures used to improve practice.
